About EBFGT / What We Do
Electron Beam Flue Gas Treatment
- Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) and Sulfur Oxide (SOx) pollutants are a result of combusting carbon fuels for industry or transportation.
- NOx creates low-level smog aggravating heart diseases and causing lung related diseases such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis.
- NOx is known to react with the atmosphere to create compounds that damage the ozone layer and form other forms of toxic compounds.
- SOx is the main source for ongoing acid rain problems and the accelerated corrosion of buildings and acidification of the environment.
- A significant proportion of national SOx and NOx emissions are emitted in the flue gases of medium and large industrial facilities.
PAVAC’s treatment of flue gases with an electron-beam is a cost efficient alternative to meet the requirements of the current and upcoming emission standards. This technology is proven: The UN and IAEA have developed a number of EBFGT installations in Europe and pilot demonstrations of this emerging technology have been shown to reduce SOx up to 99% and NOx up to 70%.
Having reviewed the results of these installations, PAVAC has developed a second-generation EBFGT that increases efficiency and reduces the size.
